Ladbrokes Reveals Its Concept Betting Shop to Balance FOBT Crackdown Impact

The Gambling operative Ladbrokes Coral unveiled its second “concept” gambling shop as part of a strategy to modernize and digitalize the experience it offers to customers of its brick-and-mortar facilities. The new betting shop is situated on Stephenson Street in Birmingham. It opened its doors on Thursday, December 19, to welcome its first clients. The facility offers improved online experience and numerous new self-service gambling terminals. Also, it features a number of products that are provided by the British racing and sports gaming publisher Racing Post, including an upgraded interactive version of the digital betting display, a new sports screen, and a “departure board” which shows future races supported by the Racing Post verdict.

Ladbrokes Expands Further

The new Racing Post sporting screen provides data in the form of main stats and tips for gamblers all over the sporting day. Ladbrokes Coral, formed via the merger of British bookmakers Ladbrokes and Coral in the year2016 and was attained by Isle of Man-based gaming group GVC Holdings last year, is now introducing its new idea shops amongst a stormy time for the British retail gambling sector.

Renovation amongst Crackdown

After years of burden from the anti-gambling campaigners, the UK Government then decided to cut huge stakes on the highly debated fixed-odds gaming terminals to £2 from £100. The betting machines have long been an important part of Britain’s retail gaming sector and lead driver of growth for that sector. The decrease of the maximum FOBT stake, which became effective on the 1st of April, resulted in over 1,100 gambling shops around the country being closed down. More ends are probable to occur in the coming years as the sector regulates to the changes. Ladbrokes Coral is the operative of UK’s biggest chain of gambling shops and was among the companies to suffer the most blow from this ongoing crackdown on their gaming machines offering. The introduction of new staking concepts is expected to balance the losses it had and would suffer as a result from the abridged FOBT stake. The new opening of its idea of betting shop on Stephenson Street followed the establishment of a Coral-branded shop of this kind on Warren Street in Birmingham. That first shop opened its doors in December and it offers the same web-first experience.
