Australian Open 2020 Gets Underway

The world’s top tennis players in Melbourne, Australia, gather over the next two weeks. This is the 108th edition of the Australian Open ready to get underway. The first Grand Slam competition of the year takes place at Melbourne Park. The women’s and men’s closing are scheduled for February 1 and February 2. The World No. 1 Rafael Nadal, the defending champion Novak Djokovic and the 20-time Grand Slam victor Roger Federer scooped up the latter 12 big titles between them. They remain the best men to beat in Melbourne. In the meantime, Serena Williams opens the tournament as the favourite to victor a first Grand Slam cup since succeeding in Melbourne in 2017. The Australian Open will exclusively be broadcasted in the U.S. across ESPN channels. ESPN2 will carry the popularity of the initial round and ESPN to broadcast live coverage of the semi-finals and finals. Due to the 16-hour difference amongst Melbourne and the US east coast, the initial rounds will start normally at 7 p.m. or 9 p.m. ET. They will carry on over the night until 7 a.m. the following morning.
